The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that defensemen Seth Jones is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained knee. Jones led all Blue Jackets defensemen in a number of key areas last year including goals, points, controlled zone exits and entries.

Sticking with transitioning the puck, Jones entered the offensive zone with possession 201 times – the next best Jackets defenseman was Zach Werenski at 134. Columbus likes to move the puck north, quickly to create offense in transition and the loss of Jones will be significant in this area.
