Nikolaj Ehlers finally got the monkey off his back scoring a goal in last night’s 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Ehlers snapped a streak of 26 games without scoring, a streak that started late last season and lasted throughout the playoffs and until yesterday. Ehlers didn’t lack opportunity playing meaningful top-6 minutes and generating plenty of scoring chances, he just could not find a way to get one in the back of the net.

With back-to-back seasons of at least 25 goals, it was only a matter of time before he scored. Now that his scoreless streak has finally been broken, Ehlers can hunt down his first 30-goal season, giving the Jets another weapon in their loaded arsenal.
