Point Shot: Monster game from Kevin Hayes

Kevin Hayes had a monster night last night leading the Rangers to a 5-3 win over the Canadiens. Hayes dominated in the offensive zone, possessing the puck more than anyone else in the game while attempting a season-high for all players, 15 passes to the slot. Hayes used his big body and long reach to block passes and recover pucks leading to game-highs in both categories in the offensive zone. One of the reasons Hayes was so involved in the attacking end was his ability to carry the puck across the blueline, something he did 12 times. Add it all up and Hayes finished with a game-high 3 assists.

We spoke about Hayes earlier this year as possible trade bait and if he continues to have games like this, his value on the trade market will skyrocket.
