Point Shot: Fabbri makes his big return

Robby Fabbri had an immediate impact when he returned last night after missing the last season and a half to consecutive ACL injuries. In his first shift back, Fabbri went hard on the forecheck and took a hard hit from Colin Miller, simultaneously pushing the puck behind the net to Robert Thomas who found Oskar Sundqvist in front for the opening goal of the night. Just over 2 minutes into the game and Fabbri had passed his first test with flying colors.

Fabbri ended up playing a game-low 8:45 but still managed to produce at a high rate. Playing on the fourth-line with Thomas and Sundqvist, the trio combined to score two goals, while producing plenty of strong scoring chances throughout the game.

It’s amazing to see Fabrri bounce back so well after such a tough year and a half. Adding a player of his talent to a lineup that’s scoring the 3rd most goals per game this year gives the Blues one of the deepest forward groups in the league. Fabbri could be that boost the Blues need to start making ground in such a loaded Central Division.
